Question 'windows installer' freezing up

my windows installer is freezing up. it just started doing this out of no where. i have java updates and when i click it to download... it will download, but when i click it to install... it will pop up and say 'preparing to install' and just stay there and freeze up. what can i do to fix this? i'm running windows xp home edition with updates on my new hp pavilion computer. thanks for your time and help.

It could be your java updates. I would download them again.

yeah, that's what i thought it could be at first too. but i've tried to download them 3 seperate times now with the same outcome each time.

where are you downloading them from? sun java? or somewhere else?

1. Java is retarded
2. There is sooooooooooooooo not enough information, there could be zillions of little things that cumulatively, mess things up
3. Although it prolly wont help (cuz its most likely a software issue), Questions 101
