I have a PC with Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition installed on it, but the sound doesn't work. I've Googled the problem, but the Windows Audio service has been started already.
I have the sound card (Realtek AC97) selected as the default sound device. I updated the drivers, which are supposed to work with server 2003. When ever I adjust the volume, the internal speaker chimes, not the external speakers. I've tried headphones. I also can't adjust the bass and treble, because the bars are greyed out. Hardware acceleration is set to full. I am at a complete loss as to why it's not working.

Nevermind, I've got it working now
The motherboard has a front audio connector on it. When front audio jacks are not connected there are these two jumpers that need placed on the internal connector. I had not put those jumpers back after I took out the front connector. In my defense, some how, it worked fine when I had XP installed on it, even with out the front connector.
