do i have to find a motherboard that supports opteron 165?
i want to get an opteron 165 1.8Ghz, socket 939.
the motherboard i want to get is Asus A8R-MVP http://usa.asus.com/products4.aspx?m...3&l2=15&l3=236 but the thing is, it doesn't say anything about supporting opterons... well, when i checked other socket 939 motherboard, they don't say anything either, so i am asking if i can buy both Asus A8R-MVP, and opteron 165...

It doesnt officaily suport it, but it will work.

Ya i have a opteron 170, no motherboard officially supports opterons but mine works great.

Its the same processor except the 170 is 2 ghz and the 165 is 1.8.
