Default Slow download speeds.

Hi, I recently started to experience slow download speeds..I used to download at around 170KB/sec but now, it's at around 15KB/Sec..This is a major drop in speed..my internet is still really fast. This slow download speed started when I removed Bitdefender 9 and installed Nod32 Antivirus..Is there settings in Nod32 that is slowing down download speeds?Any suggestions in what to do is appreciated.

hello ,

i think it depends on the profile that the provider gave to you , its maybe set to drop the speed (specially for the FTP port) after a deremined number of GB you used.

regards

The download speed is not only depend on your internet connection speed, but also depend on the bandwidth of the server which host the downloading file. At this time, you can try to download another files, to find out the speed, if all speed are need to 15KB/s, then the problem is on your side. else not yours.

Are you using bit torrent for downloading ?
Maybe if you have started to use a new BT client you need to set your ports correctly if the range is to wide there are too many other ports luisteningh in and that will slow u up a lot , also maybe just a few seeds and tons of peers which will always be rpetty slow

Well if you think the problem is with norton, try uninstalling it and see if it makes a difference. Also restart your router/modem since they can get clogged with data.

Myinnet, that could be a possibility but the likelyhood of that happening once he installed norton is unlikely.

Are you downloading from the same server (site) as you were when you got the high speeds?

download speeds vary all the time. Depend on many different factors.
