Default ASUS pl5d2 connectors for DVD

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16813131538

here is my mobo im getting
Storage Devices
P ATA 3 x ATA100 up to 6 Devices
SATA II 4
S ATA RAID RAID 0/1/Matrix RAID

thats what it says on newegg

what is p ATA

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16827101006
that is one of my dvd drives im using, says connections are ATA/ATApi

now im reading the online manual for the p5ld2 and get down to the part about ITE ide cables, but i thought it had ATA because on new egg it says 3 ATA for 6 devices

now will this mobo run this dvd drive since it says ATA
Interface ATA/ATAPI

or do i need an IDE one, in the manual it says these connectors are for ultra ATA 133/100/66 cables
on the mobo it has pri EIDE and SEC EIDE

then it goes on to the ICH7R primary IDE connector 40-1 pin primary IDE for ultra DMA 100/66 cables

then goes to SATA for the hard drives

im confused as to whihc drives i need

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16827101006
this or this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16827187041

the 2nd one cost more so im hoping it the 1st one that is right

p ATA is just those 40-pin connectors on you motherboard. those are the ones that you attatch the ribbon cables to, and, as far as i know, all or most optical drives use them. i dont know if there are SATA optical drives though.
