Default 3700+ 45c??

hey guys, i just built a new computer with a 3700+ and a stock heatsink, i removed the stock thermal pad and put on arctic silver 5 instead. i fallowed the arctic silver directions and only put on a bb sized amount on the cpu and put the heatsink on and moved it to spread the thermal greace...

my temp after about an hour is 45c i have read from reviews that it should be at about 36

the last computer i built i put thermal greace everywhere on the cpu but this time i decided to fallow the directions

does anyone know what i should do... and if i have to remove the heatsink and re grease it... whats a good way to take it off w/o ripping the cpu out of the socket

thanks ConCord

did u pick it up a little bit? ive heard this can create air pockets and lower the cooling efficency.

make sure your case is staying nice and cool, with plenty of fans and stuff. you can reapply the paste. you just need to take off the heatsink. there are several different kinds. google might have some good tips for taking off your heatsink.
