Default sata connectors quick answer

does SATA 2 suport SATA 1 as well or only the 3 gb/s drives?

sata2 is backwards compatible, so with any combination of motherboard and hard drive, you're guaranteed sata speeds and compatibility, but both need to be sata2 to get sata2 speeds
