Trying to update my friend's Win98 computer, the CD drives aren't working properly. I disconnected the power, took the case apart, connected a modem, and took out the RAM, then put it back in. I hooked it back up and started it, but all I get is black and a "Beep beep beep...etc." So what's wrong? Anyone have an idea? It's a Gateway, built 8/16/01.
