Default webcam question

this webcam is built with microphone. but i wanna ask can the webcam or the microphone be use itself??....which means can i sometimes only use the microphone of that? like sometimes i wanna record sounds. this webcam looks like the microphone can only be use with the webcam together since it doesnt have a line to connect to the sound card

Yeah, that's a Logitech Fusion webcam. And I think that your thought was correct in that the microphone can only be used with the camera. Although, if it comes up as a recording device in your audio/sounds area in the Control Panel, so much the better!

Even though it says it doesnt I think it still would , When I connected my old labtec webcam that said it couldnt be used as a seperate mic, I went into sound devices and it was listed there as a mic and picked up fine

Do you own it, or are you looking to buy it. Because if you own it just go in and check your audio devices and see if it is listed in there...

i dun own it......im looking to buy it......coz its description sounds really good. but if this thingy i cant only use the microphone n only can use when using the webcam to communicate on msn or etc......den i think i'll buy a cheaper webcam n buy a separate microphone.......
if it can use the microphone itself, thats great....coz i dun wanna put too many things on my desk....it's already really messy now...lol
