i dont think he needs an AMD processor. he is doin no gaming so give him a P4 that will handed his needs better than an AMD might. and i really dont think he needs 1gb of ram. with a low budget and the tasks he mentioned, 1gb isnt needed. unless he wants it.

i know u might not wanna hear this, but a dell or hp might be suited best for u.

low priced hp computers are pretty nice, they have asus motherboards, choice of amd or intel processors and some have onboard gfx which might be nice in this case. since he wont do any gaming.

I'm looking to build a set-up similar to this.....Is there a single core processor (P4) you might suggest. Is it possible to get a 3.0MHz near this price?

Thanks

Yes, GHz sorry...I got in a hurry.

Could you also tell me how these two would compare to each other? Would the dual core be a better preformer just because it is a dual core?

Ok...I am new here and I have read about dual and single core but I've not read as to which one was faster or really how they differ. Any help here would be greatly apprieciated.

Also...what about that heat problem...can that be controlled?
