Default I don't have a phat base

As a matter of fact, I don't have base at all. It just vanished. I tried a system restore, and that worked once. Then today I couldn't get that to work either. I really want my sound back.
My sound card is an onboard chip on an Abit NF7-S2 something (can't find manual to give you the exact name), and my drivers are updated.
I really need my sound back, can't listen to music, play games or do anything involving sound. :/

ya know, you can get a PCI soundcard from eBay for like £10 that will suffice for game playing, music and most things..... it will be better than onboard....

I know, I'm just a bit lazy (although it'll be a bit more expensive in Sweden, wherever I get it, though I'm probably just cheap ). And it's been working fine for a year now.

Dunno if it's called glitch. :p English isn't my native language. But the headset cable seems to be broken somehow, which cause my base to go away. Applaud me for figuring out so early.
