Default QUESTION: Building NEW Computer

hey guys i have the choice to Build a New Computer in about a month, but i'm facing some "ifs" currently i have a crap system, here's my proof http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/4506/3dmark063lp.jpg

things to keep in mind (and questions)

coming out this year is Windows Vista and Direct10x

if i were to get a Vid Card that had a Direct9x interface, would it be able to support Direct10x? perhaps an update?

and whats special and NEW that my NEW computer should be equipped with to run Windows Vista?

thanks

vista is actually coming out next year. Im not sure on DX10 though. Anyways, on a hardware level any of the newer cards out now will only support Directx 9, but you can install Directx 10 and it will work, but it will only be at a software level.
