Default Program won't uninstall!

I have a program that won't uninstall! An error message cites a registry key entry which it says it needs access to however I'm wary of making changes to the registry. I also can't delete the files manually so I'm stuck with it!

So I have 2 questions:
1) How do I uninstall a program that won't uninstall the usual way?
2) How do I delete files that refuse to be deleted?

Thanks to anyone who can help

Try safe mode. F8 during bootup right before you get the windows splash screen. See if it will uninstall in safe mode.

And if the uninstall is telling you that you have registry issues, you may want to run a registry cleaner. Crap Cleaner (free) will search for and repair registry issues.

Thanks for the help so far guys. I've downloaded crap cleaner and run it through and cleaned up a lot of files. I also tried to get it to uninstall, but it was no different.

I've tried getting in to safe mode. When the computer starts I press F5 and it has options such as safe mode. I select safe mode but it just restarts then comes to a screen where I can try safe mode or just go back to the last setup that worked, but if I select safe mode it restarts and comes back to the same screen. In short: I can't get it to start up in safe mode! Any suggestions?
