Default windows login dialogue

lately when i boot up my computer, the windows login page appear and ask me to enter an username and password to enter..although the password is blank, i do not like to see the login screen as it would create an extra step for me to login. This has not happened before in the past until i installed something (which ive forgotten). In the past it would just log straight into desktop automatically. Is there a way to reconfigure back my own settings?

i have deleted all guests/users accounts and was left with the administrator and other built-in accounts that comes with xp by default.

Tweak UI This powertoy will allow you to login directly to your desktop. It has many settings you can change, direct logins are just one.

I think we really need to know what type of program it is that you installed.
A way around this is you need to go into the registry and change some values and delete some bad ones (if they are there)
Tell me how well you know the registry.

control panel, user accounts, "change the way users log on or off", check the "use the welcome screen" box and make sure you only have one user. That should do it.
