ummm... why not just movie maker?

open the video file. it will always usually import the file into multiple clips and form there one, patch up the scenes you want and save it.

because i cant save the file as avi? i dont want to save as wmv after im finished!

Simple.
Use movie maker.
Save as wmv.
Use a converter to save as whatever filetype you want.
