Default Identifying Ram Stick.

Hi,

I acquired a 256MB stick of RAM from an HP (older, I presume) Pavilion desktop that was beyond help. The problem is that I don't know what type of RAM it is - as there is no such identification on it. The only thing on each of the eight black rectangles are:

InFineon
HYB39S128800CT- 7.5
C2

If I am not successful in determining what type of memory this, would there be any negative repercussions behind trying it out in a computer?

yea

It has 16 chips (8 per side) and each has the following written on it: HYB39S128800CT-7.5. It is backward compatible with almost all PC100 machines that accept 256mb of memory per slot. It is Low Density, UN-buffered and NON-ecc.

Thanks much,

Our computer (at 1 Gig) is maxed out, and I was thinking about installing it into my mother-in-law's computer, which is a couple of years older. If her's can't handle it, then I will install it into my synthesizer (for sampling). At any rate, it will be put to service in one way or another .
