cell phone problem.

ok guys, wonderin if u can help me out here. my friend just broke her cell phone and she is still under her plan with Verizon. she doesnt want to cancel the service cuz then shes gonna get charged. so then she called up verizon and asked about it and they said that she can use an old phone as a temporary replacement until the plan is over if she doesnt want to cancel.

so my friends friend has an extra cellphone, one that she just found. and my friend wants to use it. will she be able to? is there anyway that the past history on the phone can be traced? for example, if the past owner of the phone has filed it stolen ( which it wasnt stolen, they just left it there and someone found it) will the verizon ppl knoe about it, is it on records? im just wondering cuz i dont want her to get in possible trouble. thanks

im not to sure but if verizon uses sim cards like tmobile, if they do then it wouldnt matter. but if they dont then i think it can be traced. i knot his b/c lets say you put a password on your cell and forget it, then they can get into it and unlock it.
also try askin verizon to send her an old phone thats free b/c i kno that tmobile does that. they give a free phone thats really old to use if something happens to your phone.

verizons dont use sim card. I would think they would know if its a phone reported as stolen

why dont you ask Verizon? I bet they would know.

I would think that they would know something's up with the phone, possibly something would show up when they go to program the phone with her number. She can easily get a phone for 20 bucks!
