I know you're not stupid. I never thought that was the case. I apologize if that was the message you thought I was trying to say. Don't forget, man, that other people will see your questions and our answers. OTHER people might be stupid, or feel stupid.

What I tried to put across (but failed because occasionally I am the stupid one here) was that PC makers try to cut corners every way they can to save even a penny per unit, and only install stuff that is absolutely necessary. If they put a heatsink on something, then even the PC maker figured that it was vital to have it. They don't put anything on it they don't have to.
