You can't see your mini dvd-rws? maybe you should see an eye doctor and get some glasses lol

Anyways, from what you said I have gathered:
1. Your drive was previously able to read mini dvd-rws
2. Your drive is now not reading them

Now for some questions:
1. Is the drive reading movie DVDs and other CD/DVD media types?
2. Do you know the model of the DVD drive? If so, what is it?
3. Does it not want to read ANY mini dvds or just a certain one?
4. Any hardware changes before it started doing this?
5. What model of computer is it? (Custom, Dell, Compaq, etc...)

Have you tried the regular size r/w dvd's. We are talking about erasable , right ? What OS do you have ? I have not used erasable media for awhile. I know that for CDs packet writting software had to be installed, for the DVDs was this the case ? if so you might have to reinstall.

-Yes it does play regular dvd movies
- yes we are talking about erasebales
- dvd burner is liteon sohw-1633s
- it reads the mini's sometimes but it doesn't matter what kind it works some times and other times it doesn't
- there has been no hardware changes
- the computer is an HP
- I have the packet software and it works when I hook up my camera it can read it but not from in the computer

The mini-dvds might be formatted by the camera to work with the camera and could cause complications when you try to use it just on a comp. You might just have to keep reading the disk from inside the camera when you hook it up to your pc.

do you have any CD / DVD software on your pc by GEAR ?
You also may want to try in safe mode,,,,,see if you can read the mini dvd
If you still are having trouble, it could be a driver
if it clears up in safe mode,,, could be a virus / trojan / spyware or a program loading with start up

1. Not all dvdplayers can support -RW
2. Not all dvdplayers like "minis"

1. Well your disks need to be +R too (or whatever type you plan on burning)
2. With +R and the right burner you can do booktyping (burn a +R disc as if it was something else)

Now what make and model of burner do you have? I have a link to Nero InfoTools in Questions 101

1. Do you mean DVD player as in standalone home theater (which is what im assuming) or do you mean the one in your computer
2. Is there any change if you burn slower? Burning fast sometimes (actually, often) has issues associated with it
3. Where is the source video from and how are you transcoding and authoring it?
