Default Asus Motherboard upgrade

Hi,

I'm new to the forum & in need of some help.

I need to upgrade my cpu & mobo to a 754 socket. (SSE2 instruction issue)

My current pc has an Asus A7N8X mobo, & I am looking at an Asus K8V-MX w/ Athlon 64 3700+.

Will there be any issues or incompatabilities to consider before swapping these mobos?
ie wiring, power supply ect..
or this any easy swap?

Thanks

Ray

Does your power supply have a 20-pin ATX connector? If it does then i dont see any problem. You will most likely need to re-install windows though.

Thanks

Your question led to another issue. My current mobo is a micro atx, so Thanks.
I ordered a Asus mATX mobo, w/ Athlon 64 3700+, 2.2ghz cpu
added 160 gb hard at 7200 & additional 512 ddr
Hopefully this will help in some video editing

Geoff, Thanks again

That comes up to about $300

For that kind of money, you might as well get
- AMD Athlon64 3200 [S939, Venice, ADA3200DAA4BP] ($164.00)
- ASUS A8R-MVP ($104.99)
Subtotal: $268.99
