I tried upgrading from Windows NT to XP on my desktop (LOL!!!!! DONT TRY THAT ON YOUR OWN COMPUTER)
I accidentally formatted a partitioned drive that had some main windows files in it and "of course" the upgrade failed. As I try to reboot my system, Window won't start. I then tried to format the entire C: drive in DOS, but it wouldn't let me. I then downloaded "Erase Disk" from another computer to try and pave the drive, but I cant run it from DOS. Is there any way to format the Drive or even completely erase all memory on the drive so I can start from scratch???? If not, what would you recommend I do? |

have you tried reinstalling it again like you did in the first place?
inserting the xp disc and then now, delete ALL partitions you may of made, and FORMAT that remaining only drive that you end up with. not a quick one, but a full format. i believe it gives two options, one for a quick NTFL (NTFS?) or something.. and one for a full.

shouldnt this be in operating systems? but as for your problem, if you put the drive in another computer and format it from there wouldnt that work, then u could just put it back in the comp and install your XP.
