You'll need more than air to hit 3GHz, and you won't be able to do it even on an NF7-S v2.0 (i used to have one as well) without the northbridge volt mod. Stock voltage...no way.
I think my best stable score was inbetween 2.65-2.7GHz out of my XP-M 2600+ on air with the volt mod (pencil method). And it only ran stock for a short while, then the motherboard crapped out. Probably too much heat for the northbridge. It was actively cooled with a copper HS and 40mm fan, but probly needed water.

I didnt do any mods to the board and I had 2.5-2.6 on air stable. That chip rocks and the board is stable too, I loved it.

Yeah, but he claims he can get 3GHz when theres not really a chance of being able to do it with just air cooling.

you doubted 3GHz on my 4000+ and what did i get stable in windows?? what was it? 3.2GHz? oh, yeah, i think thats what it was, and just wait till i order my DFI... think of the possibilities... im just about completly sure that with DDR400 (runs stable at DDR500 CL2.5) this motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813123221
and my factory unlocked 2500+ that i can hit 3GHz |

What's the max northbridge voltage on that epox board you're getting? Personally I'd think maybe you can hit 3GHz running a large multi and normal FSB with proper cooling. But low multi's and a high FSB on an epox might prove deadly, my old EP-8RDA3+ would never do past 230FSB and it had the exact same chipset, similiar board all around infact. The NF7-S was pushing 265FSB, but if you can't find one anymore i understand, no one wants to let go of them lol.

Just a ?, why do you always have to do better or have better then people you know?
My cousin grew out of that phase when he was 12 or 13. I cant wait till my GTX comes.Exactly 4W4K3, Im not selling mine for a long time, same goes for the Voodoo2 SLI I have and original Voodoo1 card.
