Here's a platform that is future upgradable
Gigabyte GA8I945GMF ($98.50)
Intel Pentium4 506 ($119.75)
Rosewill 2x512MB PC2-4200 ($66.99)
Linkworld C2228 Case + 430W [12V@18A] ($24.00)
Western Digital 80GB 8MB ($53.00)
NEC 3550A DVDRW ($39.75)
Subtotal: $401.99

Now if future compatability isnt an issue,
Rosewill 2x512MB PC2-4200 ($66.99)
Linkworld C2228 Case + 430W [12V@18A] ($24.00)
Western Digital 80GB 8MB ($53.00)
NEC 3550A DVDRW ($39.75)
ASUS P5VDC-MX ($56.00)
Intel Pentium4 521 ($181.00)
Subtotal: $420.74

A bit over and not future proof but probably the best as it is
Linkworld C2228 Case + 430W [12V@18A] ($24.00)
Western Digital 80GB 8MB ($53.00)
NEC 3550A DVDRW ($39.75)
Buffalo MAJOR 2x512 CL2.5 ($71.95)
Athlon64 3200 [Venice (DH-E3), S939] ($164.00)
ASUS A8V-MX ($58.00)
Subtotal: $410.70

Which list are you going with? The build Praetor put together would pwn the list you made earlier on... It's dual core, something that games a couple of months on from now are going to be utilising, thus giving you a big increase over signle core users... Heck, 3DMark06 already does!

I ordered andy's list, I figure its less money and if I mess it all up it will be a cheap lesson. should have the parts in about three day's. I'll let you guy's know how it turns out. Thanks, Mike
