Default get one of the new ati cards or wait for nvidia?

considering an x1900xt, although i'm wondering if nvidia will kill ati like they did with the last gen cards...

the x1900 series is trying to compete with the 7800 series, not nvidias new line of cards. The truth is once nvidia releases there new one, ati will realease another one, and so on. So you'll never have the best card for long, so i would go with the x1900XT and overclock it a little. It would be better then a 7800GTX and much cheaper.

There are no guarantees on specs with nvidias new card, go with the x1900xtx it's technology is here and most importantly now.

nonetheless, nvidia's card will probably be much better than ati's, but likely to be as expensive as a 7800 512 is now

the question is would the x1900 or 7900gtx cards be bottlenecked by my cpu?

i think both of them would, maybe the x1900 a little less because of the higher clocks, but if you overclock a little bit with that beast of a board(the cpu i mean) it should be a well balanced system with both.

a little bit of overclocking wont bottleneck the cards... if they make multithreaded games, i dunno if clock speed or amount of cores would bottleneck a cpu anymore...?

My question also, I bought the X1900XT with a new X2 3800+ so im not sure how much of a bottleneck the CPU might be. I do, however, plan on OC'ing the CPU to the speeds of a 4200+.
