doesnt the Celeron also have smaller L1 and L2 cache sizes than the P4? that would affect performance quite a bit.

smaller L2, but I believe the L1 is the same size.

and yes, it is a pretty big deterrent to performance, probably one of the top reasons to go P4 over celeron
