IMO, when it comes to computer parts, the more expensive, the better...that may sound ignorant, but it's the truth

yea, i agree with travo925.
more money = more performance. however, the 7800gt is good for the money and will pretty much play any game thats out today on high settings. 7800gtx 512mb would be the best video card in my opinion, its ram is at 1.7ghz!... also put it in SLI and thatd be one of the best gaming systems EVER lol.
EDIT: 7800gt dual core video card in SLI would probably perform better, but i think its ram is @ 1.2ghz default

Yes, you're right, but is it the most

I don't think so... I would imagine the 7800GT will be the most bang for your buck when nVidia release their upcoming card (I don't think it'll be far from now)...

^it's not always about the stats. the 48 shaders is a big part of it, but it's just a new chip with more efficiency/power. it's like car engines: you can have the same sized engines with the same amount of cylinders, but one can have 150 hp while the other may put out 1200 hp.

Modoman hit it on the head. The 48 Pixle shaders helps a lot, same with the core and memory clocks, but the chipset's power is just much better than that of the X1800XT's.

And your opinions wrong... Not only does the X1900XTX have a better GPU architecture, but, 1. RAM speed doesnt mean much if you've read the X1900XTX reviews 2. The X1900 uses the same 1.1 ns samsung chips as the GTX 512 so the RAM will clock the same.

I agree with ckfordy. $519 and you get 1.1 ns RAM rated at 900 Mhz (1800 efective). That thing has so much overclocking potential.
