Default Mobile phone changing number help

Hello I dunno if this is the palce to post but I was wondering how the hell do I go about keeping my existing number on a different network. I know it can be done as I have seen it advertised.

Im changing from Orange (there charging me £1 a min on calls) to Fresh mobile (they will charge me 15p a min on calls). Plus the orange sim I have doesn't completely work on my phone so for some reason I can't text people.

Ohh and before anyone raises this issue. I can use sims from other networks as I bought the phone factory unlocked.

And the phone itself can text I know this as I paid like over £300 for it so its not piece of shit and I tried with a friends sim and I could text.

Ohh and I dunno if its relevant but it may be for all I know, the phone is a Sony Ericsson W800i.

Any help would be appretiated, so thanks very much.

Jon

Default

all you have to do in the states is go to the new network's store, tell them you want to switch and keep your old number, and they should take care of anything with your old network, though you may still have cancellation fees and the like, dunno about the UK though
