Msconfig and Device Manager Problem

Hi, my computer was infested with spyware and adware, and i cleared most of it out using Adaware, Spybot, and hijackthis. I'm fairly comfortable with msconfig and regedit, but for some reason i am not able to access them. When I try, they either pop up and close super quick or don't pop up at all. Also, device manager won't open either. Anyone have any comments or answers to why this is happening? Thanks.

A quick solution to that problem is renaming regedit.exe and msconfig.exe to regedit.com and msconfig.com.
But there's still some malware on your system that prevent those from running. Try a virus scan too: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/hous...start_corp.asp.

how do you rename regedit.exe to regedit.com, do i have to do that through command prompt?

You can do it in the explorer too.
