Another RAM problem....

Hi,
I finally got my floppy drive working, so i ran memtest.

So, I ran it for 30mins on my "Good" 512Mb stick - I think the other one is corrupt.

The RAM Passed.

So, i shut down the computer, then put in the other "Bad" module.

And guess what, that computer never got past the Mobo screen.

So i took the RAM out, and put the other stick in. It didnt boot.

Then I reset the CMOS, and still it doesnt work.

What could be the problem?

EDIT: The RAM is Corsair VS 667Mhz

Ive tried the RAM in a different slot, still not working.

Could it be that both sticks of RAM are faulty now? Ive tried them together, on their own, everything. Still will not get past Mobo screen.

Also, ive noticed that it takes ages for the mobo to beep, and ages for the picture to come up on the screen.

I hope to hell that the mobo aint screwed..........

From here, there's only two ways to figure out the answer. Try installing new RAM into your computer, or try installing your questionable RAM into another system that you know is working. The latter might end up damaging that other system too, if somehow the RAM is messing up the motherboards (which might be a possibility).

Well, I know no one at all with a DDR2 system, and I do have Corsair XMS2 on the way, so i can test then.

Either you have two bad RAM modules or your motherboard is damaged. If you can RMA the Motherboard, then I think that would be your best option.

Well, for some reason its working now. I havent booted onto windows yet, im testing the modules indivdualy (sp?) on memtest.

AHHHHHHHHHH! RESULT!

I ran the good module for 30 mins, no errors.

Sure enough, other module, doesnt boot.

I thought "jesus, its not going to work again", but when i put the good one back in, thankfully it booted!
