but you almost never see an OEM comp brand with decent PSUs...

That's pretty broad of a statement and arguably incorrect: OEMs dont want to be replacing boxes all the time so they ship a PSU that's generally more than acceptable for the platform as shipped ... people start running into problems only when they want to upgrade (but that's the point, the OEM doesnt want you to upgrade....they want you to buy a new one)
