Default Why Intel didn't compete

My apologies if this has been posted already, but here are the top ten reasons Intel didn't compete in the Dual Core Duel (pdf): http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/cont...-core_duel.pdf

Not trying to be an AMD fanboy, just a little fun!

yea thats true but plenty of sites have done fair dual core battles between the entire amd dual core lineup and the entire intel dual core lineup. so eventhough intel whimped out, we still have proof amd owns.

Yeah. Its understandeble that DELL didn't wanna get Intel in the contest...they only use intel cpu's and they knew that if intel got owned...which would've happened...they would've lost businness. Intel listened cuz if dell loses business cuz of intel, they will get AMD, and intel will lose a HUGE amount of money.

I guess the question is, why would Intel compete?

They pretty much dominate the server market, and this sort of event would have had considerable media attention. If it had been so widely publicised that AMDs server processors were better, they could have lost considerable business.

If, on the other hand, Intel had won, they'd have very little to gain. Since they already dominate the server market, there wouldn't be too many companies switching to Intel.
