The plus means that you can expand the list (well it should)

Im not sure i understand ... the CDROM is in the boot order :S in fact... its the first thing that's checked. Something that might be available ... read the screen right at the beginning there might be a key combination you can press to activate a mini-bootdevice selector
(usualyl Shift+F12 or something wierd if its there)
