Default fastest CPU

does anyone know what the fastest CPU in production is? i notice they are not bringing out higher speed CPU's as fast anymore, prob because they are getting harder to make.

What do are doing however is working on multicore development which scales very well

Yes but temperatures have only been a problem for the more technologically inclined. For average Joe's its not been a problem yet and it will be some time before it does become a problem

i agree. but i rekon it will be quicker than you think when temp will be a problem. we will just have to see what awaits us for the future.

Theres nothign to suggest that "maximum operational temperatures" will take a sudden drop anytime soon If anything, odds are that they will improve (regardless of whether the temps of the chips do or not)

and plus.. we already have WCing systems.. and as said in other threads.. some people (that actually have access to do so) have nitrogen systems to keep it cooled.. so maybe nitrogen will become the standard cooling system when the temp actually starts become an issue!! hmm

N2(l) proly wont be "needed" but other vapor phase change cooling techniques are currently available (and not horribly expensive as one might think)
