Default mic problem

i have a microphone problem.....my microphone is connected to my sound card, and the sound card's driver can detect the microphone, but it says that the mic didnt connect properly....but i checked there's nothing wrong with the connection and the line. and i tried to connect the mic into my other computer, and it works.
plz help me solve this.........thanks

uninstall the drivers and reinstall them and see if that works.

but my speakers work perfectly...

or try to add hardware in the control panel.

By chance do you have auto sensing jacks ? I had a similar problem and it was a setting in the sound card program control.

i have the connecting sensing thingy from my sound card program.....when i try this, it can detect the mic but it says the mic isnt connect properly.....but i checked everything is ok.......
