Unhappy XP huge problem

Hi to all

I'm facing a huge xp problem. I've Win XP Home Edition SP1 . The problem is my windows is not booting . When it fails to boot it asks me to either boot in safe mode but I can't even boot in safe mode . I don't want to re-install my OS coz it will delete all my softwares and I don't want to reinstall them again. I think it has happened because of registry errors as I've cleaned out some registry with Registry Mechanic and after that whenever I tried to install a new software it always fail to register the .dll . So can anyone tell me to save my OS . I think it can be only done by Reparing my OS . Plzzz reply

Is there an options, Boot to last known configuration?

If not pop in the Winxp Cd, see if it self repairs... Probably not though.

Do you have an alternate pc? You can plug the drive in and save all your files to another pc.

Good luck!

boot with the xp cd in, then when the install options menu appears it will say press R to restore windows, or something like that, then you just follow the instructions

I dont believe you have a problem with the registry... As the registry is a windows based program (kinda) If your PC wont boot you have other issues...

How far does it get? What screen do you see last?
Do you get an error? BSOD?
