Default Problems with New Card - Please help!

Hi all

Just upgraded my GeForce4 Ti4200 to a new Asus V9999/TD (GeForce 6800).

All 2D applications run fine (Windows, office etc), but when I play any games (tried 2 - Call of Duty1 and GTA Vice City) it all starts off fine, then after about 5-10 minutes I start getting multi-colour pixels and lines randomly all over the screen.

I've tried updating the driver to the latest NVidia driver, but that didn't solve it.

Does this point to a faulty card?

Note : I haven't overclocked it or anything like that - It's straight out of the box! Also, the utility that came with the card states that the RAM and CPU temperatures on the card are fine.

Thanks a lot guys.

try reseating the card again and see if that works. and if theres a cable on the videocard thats supposed to go on the powersupply plug it in and see if that helps cause your card may not be getting enough power.

does sound like drivers though, my card used to put out green and orange shadows on occasion till I updated drivers (used omegadrivers but anywho), still does it in far cry though so I dunno what's up there. I'd say try finding drivers from other websites like omegadrivers, I know there's more, just can't think of them right now
