Default hard drive problem please help

well basically, i'm running window xp service pack 2

i have 2 hdd on my computer, the master one have 40 gb, and the slave one has 300gb

my slave drive used to work fine, but after i format my main drive and do a new installation, my slave drive seem to lost haft of its capacity, even though i didnt format it. so instead of showing around 270gb partition, now i only have 127gb on my hardrive partition and all my datas were lost. I tried everything to find the other half of the hardrive but fail. Well when i try to do property on my newly formed hardrive that has 127 gb, it said that 127gb used and 127 gb free space, but the pie charge is completely empty, and the drive is also empty.

basically is there anyway for me to regain my lost hdd capacity? please help if you have any ideas.

*nvm i found the problem, seem like my window version is a bit older than my previous one therefore it cant go over 137gb limit
dumb of me for not figuring this out first, now i lost all my valuable data on this disk =/
