HP Pavilion
Intel Pentium M Centrino
1.86ghz
1GB PC4200
80GB Hard drive
1199$

or Gateway
AMD Mobile Athlon 4000+
2.6ghz
1GB PC2700
100GB Hard Drive
1349$

Which one is a better buy?

it has better battery life fastert memory better processor. the only downside is it has 20 gigs less harddrive space then the other one and are they 4200 5400 or 7200 RPM's

Do either of them have any GPU? Becuase that Gateway would play games well with a decent GPU, if u wanted to game.

thats what i want the laptop most for games

what graphics card does the HP have. if you want it for games and the HP has a good graphics card get that cause it has alot faster ram then the Gateway.

Unless there would be a way to mod the HP to add a graphics processor to it (which there should be) and then you can have the best of both worlds .
