ok, i've been saving up for a while to get a new digital camera and have found this one:
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=87208 does anyone know if it is any good, it will be a serious improvement on what i have at the moment, a medion 2 mp with digital zoom, the specs on it look pretty good - 10x optical zoom and 5 megapixel, just wondering if anyone knows what they're like, for image quality etc. Thanks, Lee

I looked into those cameras once, or a similar one. They are the lowest quality of the mega zoom cameras. As you probably know, even though a camera says it's 5MP or whatever, it's not always the same as another with the same resolution. Lens quality, CCD quality, etc...
Another problem all Kodaks seem to have is they are EXTREAMLY slow. I don't know if that's the one I read about, but one similar to that one actually took 30 seconds to write 3 pictures to the memory card after burst mode. I had a cannon that could take about 3 pics a second until the card was full! To answer your question, it's probably a decent camera... But if you want a REALLY good one within that price range, look at the Panasonic FZ20. It's usally goes for $300 USD and it's probably the best 5.0MP camera... Better zoom too. |

yehy, i was a bit wary of the slow price and relatively huge zoom, and now it's out of stock so not an option, and i can't find the panasonic one you siggested anywhere in the uk, but my dad had a panasonic for work once, was about £120 and was amazing, maybe i'll just get teh 5 mp version of what he has
edit: just looked up the panasonic FZ220 on froogle and the cheapest i can find it is £400, maybe iut'll be cheaper for me to get a plane ticket to the us,m buy one then come back

That camera looks like what I have, just in a new case(placement of everything's about the same and it's 5MP) Mine's ok, I got it off ebay for $50...
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/panasonicfz20/ There's the panasonic. You do have to look around, but you can usally find it for $300 USD which should be around 200 GBP or less. They just recently came out with an 8MP version that's going for 500-600, so the price should drop soon enough. |
