Exclamation Hacking into my own laptop

Well, here's the problem...

I just recently obtained a laptop from a friend of mine. The problem is that there is a password on the system and he has forgotten it. So I decided to just install a new OS on it. The new problem was that the boot sequence starts the HD before the CD-ROM drive and there is Netbios password on there that he didn't even knew existed.

So my porblem is getting through the NetBIOS password.

The laptop is a Gateway Solo 2500.

Thanks

Manufacturers usually create backdoors in the bios, atleast for laptops.

I suggest first contacting Gateway, or atleast doing a google search.
