fusion hybrid TV card trouble

I have a dvico fusion hybrid TV card and I have trouble recording, I can’t record in wide screen is there any way to solve this problem. What I wanted to do is record HD TV to hdd then burn it to DVD in the highest quality possible and play it back on a stand alone DVD player.
Also does the format have to be .vob or alike to play on a DVD player? Would mp2 play on a DVD player?

It also does snapshots in full screen as well but its supposed to capture in the original stream which is 16:9 how come?
