Default stepdad wants to reformat but i think installing undetectable software

my little brother looked up sexy girls or something heh, and they say there are going to put on a filter program for the net. then today for no apparent reason he wants to reformat it because it's apparently running slow. he wouldn't give a crap about that and he knows a fair bit about comps, so I think he may be up to installing something we can't detect maybe? could he possibly be doing this

of course he COULD but why would he..... there are plenty ways to install a filter without reformatting, and even if he was loading up som,e keylogger somewhere, it wouldnt need a reformat. Perhaps he is using the reformat as an excuse to et near the PC to check you and your brothers surfin habits out...??

How old is your brother, cos this seems like a bit of overkill for just looking at some porn, i mean it wasnt like 9 year old kids or anything sick like that was it...?? so whats the big deal. Just discipline him and get on with it.

well, if your stepdad is intent on monitoring you then there wont be much you can do, uninstall the keyloggers and all that will happen is he will reinstall them when he notices. I think a better way round this would be to actually speak to him properly, show him this thread fi you have to. Keylogging is not the answer. A filter, perhaps, but keyloggers are going a bit too far.

lol, just use the computer in safe mode w/ networking when ever you want to use the computer without any kind of filtering. just be careful because you wont have any antiviruses or firewalls on.
