Norton Antivirus Live Update!

Hi,
I am using Norton Antivirus 2005, and i am having problems with live update from symantec. Whenever i download and install them it gets to the end and drops out. It says "the updates have failed because a file that is in use was about to be overwritten.To successfully download these, close down all your Syamntec and Norton software and then run live update again." Well it said something like that. Well any way can any one help because it is annoying and i think it is quite important because they are virus definitions. So if any one can help that would be brilliant thanks.
