For some time I was video editor at a television company. I worked on PCs and it was very ok. Never tried video editing on Macs, but what the hell could Mac do on video editing that PC can't? So just get a test-ride with a Mac it and you'll see that the Mac-myths have nothing to do with reality... ![]() |

Final Cut Pro was at its origins a PC software, but Apple bought it from Macromedia. But Adobe Premiere Pro is more than enough to create broadcast quality video material.
And if you want a very serious video or audio editing tool, then the solution is not a PC, nor a Mac... there are dedicated hardware and software for it. It's an interesting fact that nothing is original on a Mac. The Mac-GUI was taken from XEROX, the MacOS X kernel is Unix-based, and surprise: the trash can is a Microsoft invention. |

I'm surprised nobody said linux. I've used a dual boot setup for a couple of years with Win98 for games and Mandrake Linux for everything else and loved linux for it's stability! but when I moved to Windows XP I found it very stable and saw no point in continueing to use linux as rebooting just to play games is a pain in the but and I've ran my system days at a time with windows xp without a crash.
