Default Looking To Buy A New Computer...Suggestions?

Some Info on the current computer I have.(Dell)

Intel(R)
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1.60GHz
1.59GHz
256 MB of RAM.

I don't know which computer I wanna buy but I am looking to install Windows Vista when its released on the new computer. So the RAM should be higher. It mainly to play new games such as Halo 2 when it's released. The video card I currently have is crap and I am sure even if I Install Windows Vista to my current dell and try to play Halo 2 on it, it won't look good. Anyone got a suggestion on what computer I should buy and the price range as a whole?

Thanks for anyone that could help.

I SERIOUSLY would stay away from Vista as long as I could... I mean think about it, XP is still being constatnly updated, tweaked, protected, etc... Just think how a brand new OS would be!

Besides, apparently no video card fully supports Vista, so it's best to wait, at least with that aspect.

Your definatly right. I have no problem waiting it to see what happens. I haven't been hearing good things about Vista but alot of people are gonna buy it since Halo 2 is so popular in the gaming industry. It's not gonna come out for XP but still I have always wanted to get a better computer but dunno which one. A better video card is a main thing and RAM.

I've not heard good things about it, and I've tried the beta which was just plain horrible. And...what do you mean about Halo 2?

Halo 2 for PC but only for Vista. People are pissed off for this marketing move. Halo(XP) is one of the most popular games online ever. So Bungie/Microsoft are just gonna make Halo 2 for Vista.
