What do people think of some or many forum Moderators are they good or bad?
For example in a certain customer complaint forum I was told by a Moderator who should remain nameless because they didn't give me a name not even an nickname. That I should stop arguing with everybody so when did expressing an opinion turn into "arguing with everybody"? And what is this "arguing with everybody" did this certain moderator read everybody comments and get comments from others to prove that I was in fact "arguing with everybody" or did they in fact read other people comments to see that others were arguing with other people. Sorry about the PS PS And that if you are very good friends with The Moderator and you do argue with someone you won't be warned or suspened the person you are arguing with well be. Well, if this is your first post here, i would say the admins will be telling you that same thign again, or something close to it. I mean, you'v obviously got a bone to pick, hence this thread, but really, moderators are good. As long as you dont annoy them......

this forum is quite a bit more strict than other forums. I'm a subscriber to one i really love and enjoy and this one is not nearly as leanient on "spam". (no ebay there either though)

I've not been here very long, so the only thing I've noticed right off is that the mods immediately clamp down on anything that even approaches illegal. Other than that, I don't see anything odd or off-putting.

I don't get along with all of the mods, all Admins I get along with nicely though. Some opinions you have just are too much for others to take and because of that you can't get along well. Just try and ignore/avoid confrontation.

Well, kwv, first of all, welcome to the forum - but why join a computer forum to talk about moderators?
And in answer your question, I like the mods here very much... (no, I'm not sucking up to them, I do believe they are a good choice of mods...). They aren't strict IMO, and I get along with them very well most of the time. EDIT: Your question is also a bit weird, considering you aren't definately referring to Computerforum's moderators, but more of an amount of moderators. So, technically, your question is kind of a weird one...

Thanks all the replies regarding Moderators in a Off Topic Chat especially the replies about nice first post.
But after reading the replies here it is a pity that some moderators like in the other forum are maybe on a ego trip? And a follow up: Is that it seems I got suspensed because I asked the same question as I did here: "So when did expressing an opinion turn into "arguing with everybody"?" So lets this be a warning to you don't ask for an explanation as you could be suspened. KWV |

You know, I read all these threads by people complaining about power-tripping moderators, and I've seen maybe one instance in the all the forums I visit... it kind of makes me wonder what I'm missing (or not).
The mods in this forum are proactive, and keep these forums clean and trim, which is a good thing, IMO. Most people I encounter who complain about mods do so because they have had a run-in or three, and asking a loaded question such as the one you asked here is just icing on the cake for a fed-up group of admins/moderators who are ready to get rid of an agitator. My opinion only and not reflective of anyone else on these forums. |
