Default SB Live! Value digital connection

Hi,

I have Creative SB Live! Value soundcard and Logitech Z680 speakers (with hardware DTS and DD decoder). My problem is that when I connect it wia coax, dolby decoder doesn't switch to Dolby Digital mode but only to stereo or Pro Logic 2 even when I choose Live!surround 5.1. With PL2 it works but rear channels are mixed and play the same sound. How can I make it play Dolby Digital? Specifications say that in digital output mode SB Live!Value provides DD surround. Please help!

You need to either use a configurable ac3-decoding software, or use windvd, then go to options, and choose SPDIF out, rather than software decoding. This will send the raw digital signal out over the optical cable, rather than what you're getting right now, which is a downmixed PCM signal.

PCM= Stereo
AC3=Compressed THX or DD

I'm having similar problems, but with everything OTHER than movies.
