Default The Greatest Computer in the world!!! (Yeah Right...)

Hey people, how's it all going?

I thought I'd post to tell you about a computer and get some help with it. It's not mine, but a friends, and he can rig hardware soo easily. I don't know how he does it, but his computer is very strange. I'll upload a picture sometime soon.

It's a Pentium 450Mhz with 256MB RAM, a 32 MB video card, VIA Chipset, one 6GB HDD and one 4GB. He has a CDRW, and no floppy drive.

He runs Windows 98, or 98SE as of late.

When he puts in a 3 1/2" Floppy Drive, the computer reads it as a 5 1/4".
He Plays Diablo II alot, and it runs PERFECTLY in 800x600 Direct 3D.
He also plays Warcraft III on it, on high detailed graphics, At which it only jumps maybe every minute.
He has also played Dungeon Seige on it, with 640x480 resolution.
It has run Command and Conquer Red Alert 2 over a network along side 5 other Pentum 4 2.6Mhz machines, and ran perfectly with no errors or glitching.

Recently, he put in a DVD ROM that I gave him, and his computer would not start after that, EVEN when it got taken out.

Yesterday, he told me that he had changed the motherboard over and it now boots up, but he has used the motherboard before, and it was becomming glitchy again.

a couple of weeks ago, I lent him a game I like, so he could test his PC. I lent him GORE - Ultimate Soldier, and Project EDEN. Both should work on his machine, judging by the recommended specifications.

HOWEVER.... After installing Project EDEN, the keyboard started glitching, and the mouse stopped working. But when he started the game initially, it kept saying that it couldn't find any input device.

But GORE on the other hand stopped his PC from Rebooting altogether. And once he pulled the plug, it wouldn't start again, until he re formatted the HDD and re-installed Windows.

If Anyone has any comments or helpful tips on how to fix this PC so it can run games it should be able to, as well as still run the ones it shouldn't, please let me know.

He's in a bit of strife... And I'm not talking about the game.....

Enjoy all, I'll visit again shortly!

Regards,
Andrew.
