Default can't connect to internet?!?!?

Hey guys.
I have a problem with my internet.
I have a D-Link AirPremier DWL-AG530 Wireless PCI Adapter connected to a NETGEAR router. The problem is that when I start my computer, the adapter doesn't connect to the internet. I have to wait about 5 minutes for it to connect. My homepage is google so it should load up really fast. But right when I turn on the computer, it says detecting proxy settings and then it starts loading but takes about 3 minutes to load, then when it does load it says cannot find server. Then I wait about 5 more minutes and it loads up fine. Is there a way to prioritize my services so that my wireless card loads up faster?
Thanks in advance

Your computer needs to be assigned an ip, possible the router is taking a lot of time to do this because of the wirelss router. I have never heard prioritizing the services... You might want to check for adware/spyware... This will slow the loading of essential components, thus slowing the internet connection to your router. good luck

Do you have all of your IP configurations on your router and on computer set as Obtain Automatically??

Also make sure your scripts and so forth are set to detect automatically.

As Trizoy said check your computer for spyware and so forth.

Like spyware, firewalls can also cause delays. Za is one.

Under your LAN settings do you have the automatically detect settings checked?

Get some spyware, adward, and virus protection and do some scans you may be supprised whats all on your system.

Zone Alarm makes the connections have a delay..

My computer does the same with Zone Alarm.

Takes it a while to connect :/
