not all that's taken into consideration on the entire topic of technologically-based careers, but just today i was reading about hard drives with "infinite storage space" and quantam computing within 20 years. as much as technology changes from year to year, is a career dealing with such really a good idea, or is it taking a risk more so than other jobs out there?

I think your biggest threat will be to workers from other countries who work really cheap. Technology isn't going to go away, but there might be easier and easier ways for people to implement things from across the globe

My dad used to head a team at fidelity investments years back when he first got hired. Today, his "team" is contacting him from the phone because they live in england, or arabia, or germany, etc. He almost lost his job when they out-sourced a large majority of...well...everything. but because he's good at what he does and doesn't pass the blame when problems come up, he was th only person on his team who got to stay.
